About Us

We are a group of enthusiasts that share an interest in collecting and preserving historical military and sporting arms and information.

We meet monthly and display items of interest from our own collections.

What We Do

Annual Gun Show

We hold an Arms Fair at Alexandra Park on the 1st Sunday of July each year.

Show includes sales tables and displays. Members create displays and exhibits that include both military and sporting long arms, handguns, swords, uniforms, militaria and much more. There's always something interesting for everyone. Click here for more information and here for some event pictures

Military Bolt Action Shoots

Throughout the year, in association with the NZDA (Auckland Branch), we participate in a Miltary Bolt Action Target Shoot.

We compete with other clubs for the best cumulative score.
Please refer to NZDA Range Calendar for dates and times.

Military Semi Automatic Rifle Shoots

Thanks to the Labour Government in 2019, the use and ownership of Semi-automatic rifles was banned in New Zealand..

We can no longer compete with other clubs for the best cumulative score.
Please refer to NZDA Range Calendar for dates and times

Cannon and Mortar Shoots

Again in association with the NZDA (Auckland Branch), three times a year, we hold a black powder cannon and mortar shoot..

This is always lots of fun and spectators are actively encouraged. Grab the kids and come along, you might even get a chance to load and shoot a cannon. This is usually followed with a general black powder cartridge and muzzle loader shoot. Please refer to the NZDA Range Calendar for dates and times.

Monthly Meetings

On the third Thursday of every month we hold a meeting.

Each month is themed with a letter. Members bring along items of interest beginning with the scheduled letter. The items are displayed in a 'show and tell' type of scenario where we share our knowledge. We feel that it's important to share information as 'word of mouth' is often the only way that some knowledge is preserved.

Annual Prize Shoot

On the first Sunday in August, we utilise the NZDA Auckland Branch Range for a day to hold a competition shoot.

Different categories could include:
Military Bolt Action, Muzzle Loading Shotgun, Snider, Black Powder Breech Loading Rifle, Open Muzzle Loading Rifle, MSSA, etc.
